Your first weeks set the tone for how the team sees you. Building a steady rhythm around standups and async updates shows you're reliable before your output alone can prove it.

What you’ll do

• ✓Learn the team's meeting cadence, tools, and timezone overlap early.
• ✓Prepare a short update before each standup: done, doing, blockers.
• ✓Over-communicate in writing since remote teams can't read body language.
• ✓Ask questions in the open channel so answers help the whole team.
• ✓Set working hours and share them so teammates know when to expect you.
